I’ve just been jotting down some notes for a video me & Mike will be making for our other blog soon. I keep on laughing to myself because we are possibly the two most awkward & giggly boys in existence. This is never going to end well, but it’ll be funny.
This advert was produced by us in order to reiterate responsibility when drinking and to encourage people to not exceed their own personal tolerance to alcohol. For this advert, we went for the use of shock tactics in order to make this effective. The imagery shows a man lying dead at a morgue…
It's nice to have things to look forward to. (Dork alert)
Mike & I finally got round to resurrecting our uni blog for advertising today, which I’m actually super looking forward to getting on with. It’s a chance to show off a little, present some work & get ourselves out there. Making some videos ripping apart ads we don’t like is also going to be fun. Must watch my language. I’m feeling pretty positive about it already, & we’re only one post in ha! It’s just a great opportunity for us to get our teeth into really.
We also finally got some concrete ideas down for Pretty Green/Agency Sim, which makes me feel a bit more confident about the project as a whole now. A decent start point & another thing I’m looking forward to doing when we get our creative brief back. Looking forward to getting into the Mac suites tomorrow & mocking up some website designs. Want to get my creative juices flowing again.
“Go and get a job. Go and find a flat. Find somebody else. Put them in the flat. Make them stay. Get a toaster. Go to work. Get on the bus. Look at your boss… Say “fuck”. Sit down. Pick up the thing. Go blank. Scream internally. Go home. Listen to the radio. Look at the other person. Think, “WHY? Why did this happen?”. Go to bed. Lie awake! At night! Get up. Feel groggy. Put the things on - your clothes - whatever they’re called. Go out the door, into work - same thing! Same people, again. It’s real, it is happening to you. Go home again! Sit. Radio. Dinner - mmm. GARDENING, GARDENING, GARDENING. Death.”—Life according to Dylan Moran. (via daltonacademyvarsityquidditch)
I’ve been thinking (I know, I was surprised as well!) Mike & I are resurrecting our advertising blog for our Creative Team project, and it’s all about our work & putting ourselves out there.
Basically, I can’t make my mind up if I want us to make a video or not? I think it’d be a nicer idea to have that personal touch, us giving an introduction & brief explanation, instead of just pages of bland text. However, we are a pair of goons & I wouldn’t want us to put across a bad impression. Perhaps I worry too much.
